The Classic Malts Selection, the prestigious portfolio of single malts from Scotland's six distilling regions, has just introduced a stunning new collection of seven special offerings and rare aged whiskies. The highlight of the special releases is the Oban 18-Year-Old (right), hailing from the Scottish Highlands. Produced at one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland - whisky has been made there for over 200 years - the Oban is rich, smooth and balanced with a sweet smokiness.

Last month I wrote about the Millionaire Fair in Istanbul but it appears it didn't go over quite so well in Moscow this time. The Wall Street Journal's Wealth Report led me to the Guardian's report of the Moscow Millionaire Fair where yachts were going two for one and no one was buying. Socialite Ksenia Sobchak, the fair's master of ceremonies, applauded guests for showing ups saying that: "Everyone is a superhero for finding it in themselves to come here tonight, to try to bask in the luxury.

We all like some good old wine, especially with the festive season here. Good news for those who like this heady drink is that Gold Cuvée is on sale at the VOM FASS concessions in Selfridges. A little more to know about this one is, that it is a sparkling white wine produced with pinot and has real, edible 22 carat gold flakes. Now that really is sparkling, isn't it? This is some way to bling up your drink! Cheers to Gold Cuvée. The bottle is rather attractive too!

I've been a fan of artist Shepard Fairey for years but he has sprung into the mainstream lately. Not only has his Obama poster been a key part of the campaign but Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art hosting the first museum survey of Shepard Fairey's street art. Now Shepard Fairey has his own wine. Kenwood Vineyards has commission a piece from Shepard Fairey for the 30th Anniversary Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon.

There are plenty of times you open a bottle of wine and never finish it. You let it sit and it inevitably goes bad and you feel so very guilty for letting some this precious intoxicating substance go to waste. I haven't ever come across that problem however, but if I did this Home Three Bottle Wine Saver would be just the thing I need. It is very useful as it has the same preservative used in top wineries to maintain the integrity of your open wine bottles.

I'm not savvy at all to the nuances in what makes a dinner party a success, but I hear that entertaining in your home is as much about the presentation as it is about the company -- the homes that people feel most relaxed in and want to go back to are usually the ones that have are enjoyable for both the company and the dining experience.

Tequila Ocho, which just arrived here from Arandas in Jalisco, Mexico, bills itself as "the first ultra premium single estate tequila to be introduced into the U.S. market in vintages." Rather than the usual method of blending crops, the agave plants from which Ocho is made are sourced from single estates, i.e. individual plots of land with their own microclimates.

The opportunities to spend a lot on whisky just keep coming. For this one though, you'll have to fly to Hong Kong. The Balvenie Distillery has released 151 bottles from a single cask of The Balvenie, cask number 10378 from 1964, to be sold exclusively in Hong Kong International Airport. The whisky comes in a cherry wood box and each bottle is individually hand numbered.
